pout Care Green Apple Whoosh Hydrating Conditioner 75ml FAQ

How often should my child’s hair be conditioned?

How often you condition your child’s hair depends on hair type, length and hydration needs. If your child’s hair is thick, curly, or longer it would be advisable to condition it more often, say four times a week. Fine hair does not require conditioning as often and can be conditioned twice or three times a week.

How long should I leave on the conditioner on my child’s hair?

Just a few minutes should be long enough for the conditioner to penetrate the hair shaft. You may leave it on a few minutes longer if your child’s hair is thicker or drier. Please remember to apply conditioner only on the hair ends, and not near the scalp and roots.

What is the difference between a Conditioner and a Detangler?

A conditioner imparts moisture and protein to strengthen and hydrate the hair. Hair that is conditioned often will be able to resist breakage better, and will look shinier and healthier. A detangler helps remove tangles and smooths the hair cuticle but doesn’t penetrate the hair shaft. It works instantly, and can be used between shampooing or after play.

Behentrimonium Methosulfate is listed on the ingredients list of your conditioner. Isn’t that a sulphate and is it harmful?

Behentrimonium Methosulfate is made from non-genetically modified rapeseed oil and is not a sulphate. This ingredient is renowned for its superior detangling ability, without causing build-up on the hair. Unlike other conditioning ingredients, which are known for their irritancy, Behentrimonium Methosulfate is extremely mild, and is even recommended for use in baby products which are left on the skin. Because this ingredient directly deposits onto the hair follicle to smooth out the cuticles, it’s highly regarded for its conditioning abilities.

Is it true that children don’t need conditioner since their hair is so soft anyway?

Conditioners work like moisturisers do on the face. They create a seal of natural emollients that hydrate and nourish hair throughout the day, making it healthier, shinier, and more resilient to damage. When your child’s hair has a healthy moisture level it is more manageable and pliable and holds a style better.
